Internet City is the original tech free zone: Microsoft, and a long tail of smaller software firms, still define the campus. Freelance IT permits and company licences both exist under TECOM. The metro (Dubai Internet City / Knowledge Village / Al Sufouh tram) is why people live in nearby Marina, JLT or Jumeirah.

If you are a two-person SaaS shop, compare DIC against IFZA / Meydan on price, then pick DIC if the campus and the visa desk matter.

Staff often live in Marina, JLT or Al Barsha because the Red Line and tram sit next door. A DIC licence is a TECOM product — confirm dic.ae, not a formation Instagram.
