From Kenya: on-arrival only if you already live in the West
ICP added Kenya on 25 June 2026 — with a residence permit from the US, UK, EU, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. From Nairobi without that, apply first.
- On arrival
- Only with a qualifying residence permit
- Fees if eligible
- AED 100 (14 days) or AED 250 (60 days)
- Work
- Still the employer’s filing
The headline ‘Kenya gets visa on arrival’ skipped the condition. You must be a Kenyan national holding a valid residence permit from one of the nine places ICP listed on 25 June 2026. Accompanying family on the same rule. A 14-day visa is AED 100 and can be extended once; 60 days is AED 250 and cannot.
If you live in Kenya on a Kenyan passport only, you still apply for a visit visa before the flight. The job, if you get one, is a work permit the company files — medical, Emirates ID, residence. Same as India or Nigeria.
Overstay is AED 50 a day. Confirm on ICP, not a WhatsApp forward.
Practical notes, not official law. Confirm on ICP, MOHRE, RTA, KHDA and your employer before you act.
