You can take meetings. You cannot start the job until the work permit exists.
People fly in on a visit visa, take interviews, and fly home or switch status the legal way. Working — including ‘just training’ or unpaid trial shifts — on a visit visa is how people get fined and banned.
Overstaying is its own fine. Do not let a recruiter hold your passport. Confirm the visa type on the entry stamp and on ICP. Visit and employment are not interchangeable counters at the airport.
