From the Philippines: legal deployment, then Dubai rules
Hospitality and health still hire. Pay attention to DMW/POEA process at home and WPS once you are here.
- Hospitality floor
- Often AED 3–8k + housing or service charge
- Remit
- Bank/WPS IBAN, not cash to a cousin’s friend
- Day off
- In the contract, not a rumour
If you are deploying through an agency, the Philippines still has rules (DMW / former POEA). A recruiter who wants you to skip that and pay in pesos for a ‘direct hire’ is selling risk. On the Dubai side the employer sponsors the visa. Staff housing is common in hotels; overcrowded rooms in industrial areas are the other story — see the room before you send money.
Packages look small until housing and service charge are in. They look impossible without them. Ask for the split in writing: basic, housing, food, tickets, medical. Gratuity is on basic, so a tiny basic hurts at exit. WPS should show the salary. Cash in hand is a red flag.
SIM, bank and remittance wait on Emirates ID. Keep your own passport. A day off, overtime and a return ticket belong in the contract, not in a Facebook comment.
Practical notes, not official law. Confirm on ICP, MOHRE, RTA, KHDA and your employer before you act.
