Who can drive in Dubai — licence by country
Visit and residence are different. India needs an IDP. UK can exchange.
- On a visit: UK, US, GCC, most of Europe, Australia — home licence (carry IDP if it is not in English or Arabic).
- India, Pakistan, Philippines, Nigeria, Bangladesh — original licence + IDP from home.
- You cannot buy an IDP in Dubai as a tourist.
- Once residence is stamped, the foreign licence stops. 57 countries can exchange at RTA with an eye test (about AED 1,000–1,500).
