The UAE moved the official weekend to Saturday and Sunday. Banks, many schools and most corporates follow that. Construction, retail, hospitality and some government-facing desks still feel Friday as a half-day or a peak.
Friday prayers slow Deira, Karama, Sharjah inlets. Sunday night is the new Monday-eve traffic. If your home country is Friday–Saturday off, your video calls with family just shifted.
