Al Ain–Dubai is a real commute, and a long one
About 120–160 km. Plan 1.5–2.5 hours each way. It is a different emirate, not a suburb.
People do it — teachers, government, some private jobs — usually with a car on E66 / truck road timing. Intercity buses exist (including E-routes in the wider network). A 08:00 DIFC start from central Al Ain is a 05:30 life.
If the job is in Dubai, living in Dubai (or Sharjah) is the default. If the job is in Al Ain, do not rent in Marina ‘for the weekend’ and pretend the Tuesday drive is fine. Try the drive once in peak before you sign anything.
