Weekends in Dubai that do not require a credit card
The Creek, a public beach, a karak, a park. The city is allowed to be cheap on a Friday.
The brochure weekend is a yacht. The resident weekend is often an abra, a public beach, and a long lunch that is not AED 400. Both exist. Only one is how you last.
Free or nearly
- Abra on the Creek — a few dirhams, the oldest view in the city.
- Kite Beach, Jumeirah Open Beach, Mamzar — public sand. Take water.
- Al Fahidi / Al Seef — walk, not a tour bus.
- A park in Mirdif, Hills, or Zabeel. Children already know.
One paid thing worth it
A metro to a mall you do not usually use. A museum you have been meaning to enter. The Sevens if the calendar says so. Global Village in season. Pick one. The rest of the weekend can be a cafeteria.
Loneliness in Dubai is a mall loop and a delivery app. A creek walk and one regular karak counter is a better plan than another brunch you cannot name.
