Moving to Dubai with a family
School first, then the house, then the car. The other order is how you pay twice.
A family move is a school move with a visa attached. KHDA-rated schools fill. Fees are public on the school site — read them as a second rent. Housing without a school run is a pretty trap.
The order
- Shortlist schools that match the curriculum you already have (CBSE, British, IB, American).
- Pin the campus. Then open the area guide for Springs, Hills, Arabian Ranches, Mirdif, Dubai Hills, Arabian Ranches 2, Town Square.
- A car is not optional for most villa communities. Metro-side family life exists in JLT and some Barsha stock — smaller, and the school bus still matters.
The visa stack
The employed parent sponsors spouse and children once the residence visa and Emirates ID are in motion. Medical and ID for each person. Do not fly the whole family on a tourist stamp and hope the job visa lands in ten days.
What is actually good
Parks, mall play areas, the beach in winter, a healthcare system that works if you have insurance, and a city used to children in public. August indoor life is real. So is November outdoors. That combination is why families stay.
If the offer does not name school support, run the fees yourself before you resign at home. A specialist can walk the area and the visa order. They cannot invent a seat in a full year group.
